Alexandria Acquires Turner Construction’s SoDo HQ Building
Pasadena, CA-based Alexandria Real Estate acquired a nearly one-third acre property at 830 Fourth Ave. S. in Seattle from Bode Properties IV LLC for nearly $19.8 million. The SoDo property near King Street Station serves as the Seattle headquarters of Turner Construction.
The sellers had acquired the property in 1995 for $1.1 million. The site near the Union Station office complex is south of another property Alexandria recently bought for $42 million. It plans on redeveloping that former Salvation Army property at 1000 Fourth Ave. S as an office building.
The latest deals reflect an expansion to an emerging area at the south end of Seattle’s downtown office market. It is where Urban Visions has proposed S, a seven-acre campus envisioned for 1.2 million square feet of office space, and 45,000 square feet of retail space at 1001-1052 6th Avenue S.
