Aldi’s Greenlit for 549K-SF Goodyear Distribution Center
With 15 stores in the Phoenix metro area, Aldi’s discount grocery company needs to find space. Aldi’s plans for a regional office and distribution center have been greenlighted by the city of Goodyear. The facility will include about 549,000 square feet of warehouse space while a two-story office portion will amount to about 29,000 square feet.
The city approved a site plan for the distributioon center at Loop 303 at the southwest corner of Indian School Road and North Cotton Lane. The Phoenix Business Journal reports the grocer currently owns about 90 acres at the site for its Goodyear distribution center. Aldi acquired 42 acres from Sunbelt Holdings for $5.5 million and 27 acres from the city of Goodyear for $3.57 million in 2017. Aldi bought an additional 21 acres adjacent to the site for $3.9 million in 2018 from First Industrial Realty Trust.
The architect for the project is listed as Butler Design Group.
Aldi began opening locations in Arizona in 2020.
