Aldi Plans Major Expansion in Inland Empire

Germany-based grocer Aldi has major expansion plans for the Inland Empire, as well as throughout Southern California.

Aldi is hosting a major hiring event later this week in Moreno Valley aimed at attracting employees to its soon-to-open stores, including 100 new employees for a distribution center in the city. By the end of 2016, Aldi expects to have over 1,000 employees in Southern California.

The discount supermarket chain has 25 stores on tap throughout Southern California, many of them in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. New Inland Empire stores will be in Beaumont, Fontana, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, San Bernardino and Yucaipa. Meanwhile, Coachella Valley’s Aldi markets will be located in La Quinta, Palm Desert and Palm Springs.
