Alamo Regional Mobility Authority To Begin Discussions With Boring Company
The Alamo Regional Mobility Authority Board of Directors of San Antonio, TX, took the next step with The Boring Company for a high-capacity transportation project that will reduce traffic congestion on roadways.
“The Board has continually sought innovative ways to finance transportation projects to ensure a bright future for the community in a way that bridges technology and accelerates the delivery of needed projects. Today’s Board action is the first of many discussions towards relieving congestion instead of waiting years,” stated Board Chair Mike Lynd.
Alamo RMA staff will be meeting with The Boring Company in the coming weeks. Rough estimates for the project range from $247 million to $289 million for the airport area to downtown system depending upon various factors such as utilities, real estate, among other potential and variable costs.
The Boring Company, based in Hawthorne, CA., creates safe, fast-to-dig, and low-cost transportation, utility, and freight tunnels.
