Alamo Drafthouse Begins Reopening Locations

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema reopened its Slaughter Lane location in South Austin this past Friday and will begin reopening other theaters over the next two weeks, with health and safety measures in place. CBS-TV in Austin reported that the Slaughter Lane theater was chosen to be the first to open because of its location and the building layout.

“We’ve spent our downtime really thinking this through of how we can limit as many touchpoints as possible and then enhancing both our cleaning and sanitation procedures,” Alamo Drafthouse CEO Shelli Taylor told CBS-TV.

She added, “Our expectation is that you come, you’re excited but that you remember your mask, you follow our protocols and give us the opportunity to serve you, but it’s a partnership.”

Seating in the theater will be limited by social distancing requirements. Meals must be ordered in advance, and guests will be asked to exit by row.
