Alamo 7 Solar Farm Coming Online

Alamo 7, the under-construction solar farm in Haskell County, TX will be ready to go online later this year. When it goes live, Alamo 7 will be the largest dual-axis solar farm in the United States, based on its electricity-producing capacity.

Situated on Farm Road 600 south of Lake Stamford, the solar farm will consist of 10,080 dual-axis trackers on a site the size of approximately 1,000 football fields. Dual-axis trackers can follow the sun in all directions, to optimize the amount of energy captured.

ConEdison Development of New York took ownership of the project earlier this year from previous owners OCI Solar Power. Electricity generated by the 106-megawatt farm will be transported to San Antonio, where CPS Energy customers will use it.
