Airbnb Reservations Topped $32M in NYC New Year’s Eve
New York City was the most popular destination among New Year’s Eve revelers staying in Airbnb homes this past year, with a total of 47,000 guests, resulting in their hosts earning about $32 million. More than 52,000 Airbnb guests are estimated for this year.
Business is apparently booming for Airbnb hosts in New York City, despite a recent law cracking down on them. The law imposes penalties of up to $7,500 on those who rent their apartments for less than 30 days, if they are in a building with three or more units.
