Airbnb Adds to HQ Presence in PDX, Again

San Francisco-based Airbnb expanded its Portland footprint to 63,000 square feet with a 10,000-square-foot deal at 38 Davis, a six-story mixed-use asset in the Old Town district of downtown. The company plans to take occupancy of the new open concept space in the 124,000-square-foot building by early fall.

The newly-constructed, LEED Gold-certified building features cross-laminated timber, with four floors of commercial space beneath 65 apartments. It sits near Airbnb’s current space in the Blagen Block building on Northwest First Avenue. Airbnb calls Portland its North American Operational Headquarters, and it is home to roughly 400 employees in functions such as community support, trust, engineering, data science, experiences and Airbnb for Work.

Airbnb’s Darin Evenson told the Portland Business Journal, “Portland’s strong talent pool and passionate home-sharing community drew us to open our North American Operational Headquarters in Old Town in 2014, and as Airbnb’s global footprint has grown, our Portland team has grown with it.”
