Aine Brazil Honored by the National Academy of Construction
Aine Brazil, vice chairman of engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti, was one of the 28 industry leaders inducted into the National Academy of Construction, in the Class of 2017 at NAC’s Annual Meeting, held Oct. 26, 2017, in Washington, DC.
She has led structural engineering teams in the design of more than three million square feet of high-rise office development in New York City’s Times Square area, including the structural design of the 975,000-square-foot Eleven Times Square, which is the city’s first core-first office tower.
Landmark projects include the 54-story Bloomberg Tower, and the Greenberg Pavilion at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Brazil has been actively involved in the development of 30 and 10 Hudson Yards, as well as in the redevelopment of LaGuardia Airport.
