Aimco Commences Construction on $87M MF in Colorado

Apartment Investment and Management Company (Aimco) broke ground on 253 new homes in Aurora, CO. The $87-million project will offer a diverse mix of residential apartments, and promises to elevate the standard of living on the site of the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center.

Aimco’s Terry Considine says, “By building our apartments in the heart of the medical and innovation campuses, Aimco’s vision is to bring a vibrant, inviting urban center and an enhanced sense of community to this dynamic environment.”

Slated for completion in the fall 2020, the property will feature upscale apartments composed of five diverse “districts,” each offering unique floor plans and customizable design elements. Residents also will have access to 7,000 square feet of dedicated indoor and outdoor amenity spaces and onsite retail. The community is near job centers including University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, the Fitzsimons Innovation Community of bioscience companies, Children’s Hospital and the new Veteran Affairs Hospital.
