AIDS Nonprofit Expands Midtown Lease to 20K SF

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Inc. has signed a new five-year lease for 3,236 square feet at 1560 Broadway with GFP Real Estate. This expansion brings the nonprofit’s total space in the Times Square office tower to over 20,000 square feet. Alan Steinberg of GFP Real Estate represented both the landlord and tenant in this transaction.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS plans to use the new space for general offices and newly launched affiliate initiatives. “For more than 30 years, 1560 Broadway has been our home – first as a small space for five employees, to now an entire floor and more for our staff of 46 plus six affiliate programs and initiatives,” said Tom Viola, executive director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

1560 Broadway, a historic 17-story building built in 1925, underwent major redevelopment in 2014. It is now a commercial landmark in Times Square and home to Actors’ Equity.
