Agency Agrees to Alexandre Apartments Tax Breaks
The Erie County Industrial Development Agency’s policy committee recommended that tax incentives be approved for the Alexandre Apartments development in Buffalo, NY. Developer Amy Judd is interested in investing close to $5 million to renovate a former Loew’s Theatre warehouse at 510 Washington St. into the apartment building. The project qualifies for the incentives, under the ECIDA’s adaptive reuse policy.
Judd’s plan is to turn the seven-story, 2,700-square-foot, 100-year-old warehouse into a retail and residential property, with 12 market-rate apartments. The development will have a mix of one and two-bedroom units, ranging from 882 to 1,100 square feet. The building has been vacant for more than a decade.
The ECIDA will meet on Nov. 30 to formally approve the incentives.
