West Phoenix's Wigwam to get $20M revamp

Legendary Wigwam Resort Undergoing $20M Renovation

It’s been around as a resort since 1929; a project fronted by the Goodyear Tire Company, who has had a test track nearby for over a 100 years. Now the Wigwam, about a half hour drive west of Phoenix, is embarking on a multimillion-dollar renovation. The Wigwam is known for its southwestern-style casitas, pools, and golf courses, two of which were designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The renovation begins this spring and is set to debut in fall 2023.

The resort-wide renovation will include a complete interior redo to elevate its casitas, suites and two presidential suites. The hotel will replace its carpeted floors with vinyl tile and geometric rugs. The Wigwam will also undergo extensive improvements to its grounds, as well. Guestrooms and suites at The Wigwam range from 480 to 5,000 square feet and each room opens onto an expansive private patio overlooking pools, gardens, tennis courts or golf courses.

The comprehensive upgrades will be phased in to minimize disruptions to guests and are expected to cost $20 million.
