Affordable Apartments on Tap for Socorro

Tropicana Building Corp. in El Paso received $23.3 million in federal tax credits for two low-income apartment buildings in the El Paso County’s Lower Valley city of Socorro, TX. The credits, which were awarded by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, will finance construction on the 96-unit Jaime O. Perez Apartments and the 104-unit Nevarez Palms Apartments. Construction on both complexes will begin in spring 2019, with completion scheduled for 2020. The projects will be on Nevarez Road.

Tropicana Building currently owns and operates 30 low-income apartment complexes totaling 3,120 units in the El Paso area.
