Affirmed Acquires East Village Development Site

Affirmed Housing acquired an 11,479-square-foot parcel in Downtown San Diego’s East Village for $3.4 million. The San Diego-based affordable housing development company plans to pursue redevelopment of the site into an affordable housing project. The parcel is located at 701-723 17th St.

Colliers International’s Joe Brady and Bill Shrader represented the unnamed seller, a private family trust. Affirmed Housing was self-represented.

Colliers’ Brady says, “East Village continues to see significant residential development activity. The redevelopment of this site will deliver affordable housing and continue to transition the eastern portion of East Village into a diverse, ever-thriving neighborhood.”

Affirmed Housing also commenced construction on The Stella, a permanent supportive housing community for Veterans in San Diego’s Grantville neighborhood. The six-story project is located within a half-mile of the trolley station and four trolley stops of the local VA Clinic.
