AECOM to Lead Concourse Renovation at Seattle-Tacoma Airport
AECOM, a global infrastructure consulting firm, was selected by the Port of Seattle to lead the S Concourse Evolution at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). AECOM will oversee design and engineering, working with design partner HOK, to modernize the facility through renovation and new construction.
The project will restructure and repurpose the existing seven-level building. It will also include a 350,000-square-foot space expansion to increase operational efficiency, meet code requirements, and enhance the passenger experience.
“We are committed to creating a new S Concourse that is an exemplar in airport design, passenger experience, and safety – bolstering its standing as a key transportation hub to the Pacific Northwest,” said Matt Crane, chief executive of AECOM’s U.S. West region.
SEA saw nearly 46 million passengers in 2022. It is one of only five 4-star certified airports rated by Skytrax in the U.S. and was named Best Airport in North America two years in a row.
