Addison Airport Readies for Corporate Boost
North Texas is experiencing a huge influx of corporate headquarters, campuses and relocations. Addison Airport, a regional airfield located 10 miles from downtown Dallas, in the town of Addison, wants to be ready for what will likely be an increase in demand for corporate and business air travel.
To that end, the town of Addison selected Business Aviation Group to develop a new, 22,500-square-foot terminal (complete with rooftop restaurant for public use), and 56,000 square feet of new hangar space designed for long-range business jets. Construction on the project will begin in 2018, with completion scheduled in 2019.
“It’s the biggest redevelopment that the airport has ever undergone,” Business Aviation’s David Vaughan told Dallas Innovates. “We’re taking an area that’s underutilized, and putting a facility on it that will be gorgeous. That’s the center of town and very conducive for hosting all kinds of events.”
