Ad Agency Joins Tenant Roster at 601W’s Old Post Office Redevelopment

AbelsonTaylor has become the fourth tenant to commit to space at 601W Cos.’ redevelopment of the Old Post Office at 433 W. Van Buren. The health and wellness advertising agency is taking about 85,000 square feet at the 2.8-million-square-foot complex in a 15-year lease.

“Almost from the beginning, that was everyone’s favorite [relocation option],” AbelsonTaylor CEO Dale Taylor told the Chicago Tribune. “It’s exciting to be part of the redevelopment of something that’s so important to Chicago.”

Walgreens got the ball rolling with a 200,000-square-foot commitment to the Old Post Office last year. It was joined by Ferrara Candy and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.

601W was represented in the latest lease by Telos Group’s Steve Smith, Jamey Dix and Daniel Heckman. AbelsonTaylor was represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Jack Keenan. The agency plans to relocate from 33 W. Monroe, where it occupies 100,000 square feet, in March 2020.
