AC Hotel by Marriott Sawgrass Mills Breaks Ground in Sunrise

Developer Norwich Partners has broken ground on the 174-room AC Hotel by Marriott Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise. Global design and engineering firm Stantec is serving as project architect, structural and MEP engineer of record, working in partnership with interior design firm Group One Partners.

The eight-story AC Hotel will be the first new hotel to be built in Sunrise in 15 years, and the first AC Hotel brand in Broward County. The hotel will feature a modern design with alternating textured panels alongside the windows. The lobby will include an AC Lounge featuring a communal space with a full bar. The hotel is scheduled for completion in 2020.

“This will be the first on-site hotel at Sawgrass Mills, therefore, we wanted to create a structure that would fit beautifully within the complex,” said Jennifer Llop-Noy, project manager at Stantec. “Once completed, it will be the ideal hotel for business and leisure travelers looking for stylish accommodations and an abundance of amenities just steps from the mall.”
