Abilene TIRZ to Promote Online

The Abilene (TX) Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) board wants to reach out to more developers. To do so, the group will begin marketing the region on the city of Abilene’s website. The board anticipates having a web page up and running on AbileneTX.com by mid-February, with possible links to economic and business development organizations.

There are currently no TIRZ projects on the books. The board hopes to change that by providing information about the zone, and how to obtain more information on how much money is available. As of this writing, the TIRZ fund contains approximately $342,000. The TIRZ encompasses Pine Street and downtown Abilene, as well as Ambler Avenue to Interstate 20.
