Abbott Appoints Batson to Gulf Coast Authority

Gov. Greg Abbott recently appointed Amber Batson to the Gulf Coast Authority for a term set to expire on August 31, 2023. The Gulf Coast Authority has the authority to provide water systems, and control water pollution and waste disposal within the district. In addition, the organization conducts studies and research on the control of water pollution and waste disposal within the district.

Batson is a project manager and associate vice president of Carollo Engineers. She is a corporate member of Texas Water Conservation Association, American Public Works Association and the Water Environment Federation. Additionally, she is a licensed professional engineer by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as well as the Florida Board of Professional Engineers.

About Lisa Brown

Lisa Brown has decades of experience in corporate communications and marketing management with organizations including Coldwell Banker Residential, Grubb & Ellis, Marcus & Millichap, NAIOP, SIOR and ALM. In those positions, she worked in conjunction with chief executive officers and chief marketing officers to create corporate messaging, cohesive branding standards, strategic marketing plans and thought pieces. Brown is a frequent speaker at industry events and an editing adjunct professor for an online course. She has a master’s degree in mass communications from San Jose State University.
