A Book Publisher Grows in Midtown
Let’s here it for old media: book publisher W. W. Norton & Company Inc., founded in 1923, renewed and expanded its lease at 500 Fifth Ave., across from Bryant Park and the New York Public Library, where the publisher has been headquartered for 40 years.
The new lease is for 95,000 square feet, up from 78,000. The publisher plans to revamp, reimagine and reconstruct its office space floor-by-floor in three phases over the next year and a half to create a new, modern, and efficient workplace.
“With the trend of many Midtown publishers moving to Lower Manhattan and other parts of the city, landlords more than ever appreciate the benefits of retaining existing tenants,” says Daniel Horowitz, executive vice president for Savills Studley, which represented the tenant.
