$9B for a New JFK
Governor Andrew Cuomo has laid out a plan to “transform JFK International Airport into a unified, interconnected, world-class airport.”
His plan would expand the newer terminals at JFK, and redevelop older terminals so that they interconnect along an easy-to-navigate ring road. Redevelopment would also make it easier to find the airport’s short and long-term parking lots, and provide better dining, retail and meeting spaces. Cuomo endorsed $1.5 billion to $2 billion in state funding, plus $7 billion in private investment for the plan.
It’s just the latest big announcement from the Governor, who last week opened the new Second Avenue Subway and announced a plan to provide free college tuition for New Yorkers.
