Tucson’s 977-Bed Sol y Luna Trades for Record-Breaking $200M
Nelson Partners Student Housing acquired Sol y Luna, a 341-unit, 977-bed student housing complex serving the University of Arizona in Tucson. The California buyer paid seller GMH Capital Partners a record-breaking $200 million for the property at 1020 N. Tyndall Ave.
The purpose-built, student-housing complex delivered in 2013 and 2014, and includes amenities such as a rooftop pool, fire pits and grills, quiet study spaces, garage parking fitness center an outdoor yoga garden. Also included on site is 9,140 square feet of retail space.
“Sol y Luna really changed the student housing game in Tucson as the first two off-campus high-rises in the market, with top-of-the-line amenities and unit finishes, located steps from a Tier 1, Power 5 conference school,” said Timothy S. Bradley of TSB Realty, who closed the transaction. “This is the cornerstone property in the market, and this transaction marks a great beginning to the new year for Nelson Partners.”
