$86M Marriott Modular Development Proceeds in SoCal
Midway, UT-based Mogul Capital’s 354-room Marriott TownePlace Suites in Hawthorne, CA is moving rapidly towards a completion date later this summer. The $86-million project represents one of the newest development concepts being deployed by the hotel chain, that relies on premade modular construction to shave five to six months off the construction timeline.
The building components were built on on an assembly line at Guerdon Modular Buildings’ factory in Boise, ID, and arrive on trucks at the 4.2-acre construction site at Hawthorne and El Segundo boulevards, across from Hawthorne City Hall.
Cranes recently hoisted a few of the last remaining rooms atop the five-story structure of what will eventually be a 221-room Marriott Courtyard, and a 133-room, extended-stay TownePlace Suites. The rooms arrive ready-to-go with furniture and appliances, and even the mini shampoo bottles and soaps on bathroom countertops, in place.
