$85M Construction Loan Issued for Uptown Condo Development
Lightstone has received an $85.3 million loan to build an 18-story luxury condominium tower in a quiet corner of the Upper East Side.
“There’s nowhere in Manhattan like the tranquil enclave of East End Avenue… tucked away in the most exclusive part of Manhattan,” said Mitchell Hochberg, president of Lightstone. “Only a handful of new developments have been built in recent years on East End Avenue.”
The new 2nd Avenue subway will make the tower at 40 East End Ave. slightly easier to get to. The 100,000-square-foot high-rise will be divided into 29 super-luxury condominiums, including a triplex penthouse with a full private rooftop. The amenities will also include a full-time doorman, concierge, private porte-cochère and car park.
Architect Deborah Berke, the new Dean of the Yale School of Architecture, and Gerner Kronich + Valcarcel, Architects will design the tower.
