855K-SF for Amazon’s First NYC Warehouse

Amazon will open its first major warehouse in New York City at a facility on the West Shore of Staten Island with 855,000 square feet of space, to be developed by Matrix Development Group.

“The support of local leaders has been instrumental in our ability to come to New York,” said Sanjay Shah, vice president of customer fulfillment for Amazon. The company will receive up to $18 million in tax credits through the state’s Excelsior Jobs Program.

The warehouse will create more than 2,250 new, full-time jobs, with opportunities for the employees to work with advanced robotics.
