82K-SF Entertainment Venue Breaks Ground in Forney

Evo Entertainment has started work on an 82,000-square-foot entertainment center at the Village at Gateway development in Forney, with plans to open the facility in the fall of 2026. Construction on the entertainment space is estimated to cost $40 million.

The venue will feature a nine-screen motion theater; restaurant and bar; game room; a bowling alley and generate about 235 jobs three years into its operation. Forney Legacy Holdings received approval for up to $4 million in grants and reimbursements for infrastructure improvements for the property housing the center.

Dallas-based developer StreetLevel Investments began construction on the 820,000-square-foot retail complex in November 2024.

Phase one of the project is set to be anchored by Home Depot, Target and H-E-B while the Evo facility will anchor the second phase of the development. Phase two of the Village at Gateway will also add about 200,000 square feet to the project and feature 650 multifamily homes.

The H-E-B location is anticipated to open early next year, while the Target store is scheduled to open in summer 2026. The retail project is about 75% leased.
