$80M Charlotte-Area Rail Line Apartment Project Gets Green Light

The Huntersville Board of Commissioners is allowing Peak Development to rezone 21.3 acres at 17220 Old Statesville Road for Station South, a 348-unit residential community with around 25,000 square feet of commercial space. Station South calls for more than $80 million in total investment. The Station South site is along the proposed Red Line commuter rail route from uptown to Davidson.

The Charlotte Business Journal reports Peak hopes to break ground on Station South in early 2027.

Station South’s residential component will include 278 apartments and 70 townhomes. The commercial element is expected to include restaurant, retail and small office space across several buildings. A parking deck is planned for the project as well.
