80-Unit Senior Residence Opens in Fairfax
Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH), the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA), and Fairfax County officials celebrated the opening of Ilda’s Overlook Senior Residences in Fairfax, Virginia, providing 80 affordable homes for seniors aged 62 and above.
Built in partnership with Erickson Senior Living, the community supports Fairfax County’s goal of creating 10,000 affordable housing units by 2034. Named after a historic community founded by formerly enslaved individuals, Ilda’s Overlook features 100% Universal Design, EarthCraft Gold sustainable construction, and rooftop solar panels.
Amenities include in-unit washers and dryers, free Wi-Fi, community spaces, a fitness suite, and gardens. The project was financed with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, loans from Virginia’s Department of Housing and Community Development, and partnerships with Truist, PNC Bank, and the Federal Home Loan Bank.
