80-Room Hyde Park Hotel Plan Moves Forward
A Houston zoning authority approved a variance for Mighty Equities to move forward on a proposed 80-room hotel in Houston’s Montrose area. The hotel must still go through the typical permitting process before breaking ground.
The proposed hotel’s property is on a half-acre vacant lot. Besides the 80 rooms, the design includes 19,000 square feet of amenity space, including restaurants, bars, a beer garden and a rooftop pool.
Additionally, the hotel will have an 18-car parking garage and 85 additional off-site parking spots on Crocker Street.
Mighty Equities said the hotel is expected to create 300 to 400 jobs throughout construction. The developers have partnered with the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership to provide students in the global hospitality business program with experience operating a hotel.
Mighty Equities has not yet released a construction timeline for the project.
