
$75M Expansion of Denso Detroit HQ Planned
Denso International America Inc. plans to invest $75.5 million by 2021 to improve its headquarters in Southfield, MI, a suburb north of Detroit. The Japanese subsidiary of Denso Corp. is expanding and renovating its R&D facilities to develop mobility advancements focused on automotive safety, cybersecurity and autonomous vehicles.
Denso International America’s Kenichiro Ito says, “This is the first in a line of investments to create the future of mobility by bringing in top talent and fostering our culture of innovation. Expanding our team and resources now will help us make a future of autonomous cars and advanced electric vehicles possible.”
The automotive technology, systems and components supplier is also expanding its Dublin, OH operations with a 5,000-square-foot addition to support research and development in powertrain components and infotainment systems. Denso employs roughly 23,000 in North America at 28 manufacturing plants.
