$70M Makeover Planned for Omni Barton Creek

Omni Hotels & Resorts is planning a $70 million major renovation for its 309-room Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa, at 8212 Barton Club Dr. in Austin. Work on the property will begin in fall 2017, with completion anticipated for 2019.

The first phase will involve demolition of a 177-space garage, event pavilion, golf-cart staging pavilion and the resort’s pro shop. Then comes phase two, which will add a 126,855-square-foot tower. The new space will hold 181 additional guest rooms, an 86,625-square-foot conference center, a 7,671-square-foot restaurant and 160,380-square-foot parking garage. Also in the mix will be a surface parking lot, event lawn and new golf pro shop and golf car staging area.
