$600M MXU Proposed for Former MWD Campus
Los Angeles-based Palisades proposed development of 1111 Sunset, a $600-million mixed-use residential and hotel complex on the former HQ campus of the Metropolitan Water District in Los Angeles. The 5.5-acre site is northwest of DTLA, near the entrance to Dodger Stadium.
Plans include nearly one million square feet of development, including two residential towers of up to 31 and 49 stories containing a combination of 778 apartments and condominiums, a 17-story, 98-room boutique hotel, as well as shops and restaurants.
The design for 1111 Sunset’s sloping hillside site envisions creation of a new pedestrian-friendly neighborhood hub. That includes two acres of public open space with paths, terraces, gardens, courtyards, water features and an overlook with views of downtown.
Following review and approval of the project’s EIR, Palisades anticipates completing the complex around 2023.
