More Than $600K-per-Unit for 940 Columbus Ave.

An investment group led David I. Berley, paid $10 million for 940 Columbus Ave., a five-story building with 12 apartments and three retail storefronts on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

That works out to a price of well over $600,000 per unit for the 1910 building.

“There are fewer available residential buildings these days, but we buy them when they are in a desirable neighborhood, have ground floor retail, and offer long-term investment value. This building has it all,” said Berley, who is also a chairman with Walter & Samuels.

Steven C. Forest of Walter & Samuels represented Berley and the investment group in the transaction. Rosewood Realty Group’s Aaron Jungreis and Ben Khakshoor represented the private seller.
