60-Story Wolf Point East Receives OK
The 60-story, 698-unit Wolf Point East apartment property, abutting the Chicago River, is ready for construction after the city granted it a building permit.
The property, for which completion is expected in late 2019, will join the already completed Wolf Point West in the development near Orleans Street and the river. A third tower, Wolf Point South, is still in the planning stages and would be the tallest of the three buildings.
The Kennedy family, primarily Illinois gubernatorial candidate Chris Kennedy, owns the property. Kennedy, a former president of Merchandise Mart Properties, is a son of the late Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
Foundation work on Wolf Point East began in 2017. Pelli Clarke Pelli designed the tower, which will feature a glass façade, a landscaped Riverwalk and six floors of underground parking.
