GFP Real Estate has refinanced 520 Eighth Ave. in Midtown Manhattan and secured an expansion for tenant Ripley-Grier Studios

520 Eighth Sees a Renewal and a New Tenant

GFP Real Estate has lined up two leases totaling nearly 53,000 square feet at 520 Eighth Ave. In the larger of the two deals, progressive labor organization Mason Tenders District Council Welfare Fund renewed its lease for 40,000 square feet at the 25-story, 860,000-square-foot office property.

“We are proud to retain Mason Tenders at 520 Eighth Avenue,” said GFP’s Matthew Mandell, who represented ownership. “Mason Tender’s commitment speaks to the ownerships hands-on approach to client service as well as the building’s exceptional office spaces.”

Mandell also represented the landlord in the 12,769-square-foot commitment by Entertainment Benefits Group. One of the largest privately-held travel and entertainment providers in the United States, EBG committed to 520 Eighth for five years.

The tenant chose 520 Eighth “due to the property’s location in the heart of a bustling Midtown neighborhood,” Mandell said.
