$50M Medical Center Expansion Reaches Milestone

Construction crews recently raised the final beam for the expansion structure at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX. The $50-million expansion project on U.S. 75 just south of the Oklahoma border, will add 110,000 square feet of additional space, as well as an expanded emergency department and room for more beds. The project, which launched in December 2016, is expected to wrap up in early 2018.

Construction on the center, as a whole, began in June 2007.  The facility opened in 2009 with 120 physicians, and by 2017, the medical center’s staff numbered more than 300 physicians. The new services, which include adding a neonatal ICU, a chest pain unit, a dedicated imaging suite and trauma rooms, mean the hospital is working to transition to becoming a level 2 trauma center.

Brasfield & Gorrie is the project’s general contractor.
