50K-SF Sprouts-Anchored DFW Retail Center Begins Construction

GBT Realty Corporation is leading the development of Burleson Commons, a grocery-anchored shopping center on the southern edge of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Construction of the retail asset is underway at the intersection of SW Wilshire Boulevard and Commons Drive. GBT acquired the six-acre property in August for $2.3 million from Orscheln Farm and Home. The neighborhood center is expected to be completed in June.

Anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market, Burleson Commons brings 50,632 square feet of neighborhood retail to one of the fastest-growing submarkets in Texas. The 23,000-square-foot Sprouts Farmers Market is expected to open in July. This shopping center marks the 11th Sprouts-anchored property developed by GBT, five of which are in Texas.

Kansas-based BRR Architecture Inc. designed the shopping center. According to US Census figures, Burleson, with a population of 57,000 people, is one of the fastest-growing mid-sized communities in the US.
