505 Central Market Food Hall Under Construction in Albuquerque
Many food halls are under construction throughout Albuquerque, NM. One of them, 505 Central Market in the downtown corridor, is approximately 25% completed, according to Mark Baker, the developer. Baker told Albuquerque Business First that he has secured four of nine tenants at the 13,000-square-foot development, which is scheduled to open in spring 2020. One of the tenants is Humble Coffee Co., of which Baker is a co-owner. Baker is principal of architect firm Baker Architecture + Design, which is the architect of 505 Central Market.
When Baker first acquired the property in 2016, the focus was to have been mixed-use, including apartments, office and retail space. After seeing the food hall concept in other cities, he decided to build one in Albuquerque.
Other food halls under construction are the 34,000-square-foot Sawmill Market, scheduled to open in February 2020, and Highlands Central Market Food Hall, which will be open by mid-2020.
