$500M MXU on Tap for Houston’s Buffalo Bayou

DC Partners of Houston has announced plans to launch a $500-million, 6-acre, mixed-use development at the southeast corner of Allen Parkway and Gillette Street in early 2018. The plan calls for a high-end hotel, retail, and office space. Gensler designed the master plan layout for the site.

Roberto Conteras, DC Partners’ president and CEO, said that the first phase would be the hotel, which would open sometime in 2020, and offer 150-180 rooms. Additional details have yet to be finalized. Buffalo Bayou Park, in downtown Houston, renovated through a $58-million public-private partnership, and re-opened in 2015.

Other development projects around the Buffalo Bayou Park include phase two of the mixed-use project Regent Square, and a planned apartment complex announced by Alliance Residential Co.
