$47M Road Project on U.S. 75 Nears Completion

Drivers living north of Dallas, TX, in areas such as Fairview, Allen and McKinney, will soon have some relief when it comes to traffic on U.S. 75. The $47.5-million road construction project to install a fourth lane on each side of the highway will come to an end early next year, though smaller construction projects on the highway will continue.

But the expansion won’t meet the area’s growing population and long-term transit needs. Officials in Collin County anticipate population to come close to two million by the time the area is fully built out. As such, officials point out that more than a freeway expansion will need to be considered to handle future growth.
