$45M Go-Kart Facility to Open in Houston
These are not your standard go-karts made, mostly by your dad, in your garage. Think Indycars. Andretti Indoor Karting and Games is planning a second Houston-area location.
Andretti purchased a 10-acre tract just south of Costco, at Jasmine Avenue and Genesis Boulevard, in May.
The Houston Business Journal reports construction on the nearly 100,000-square-foot venue is slated to begin next spring. Andretti has tapped Dallas-based The Beck Group to design the space. Construction will cost between $40 million and $45 million. The venue is expected to open in spring 2026.
The venues typically include electric go-karts on multilevel tracks, an arcade, virtual reality experiences, 7D motion theater, racing simulators, a restaurant, full bar and about 8,000 square feet of event space.
A 7-minute go-kart race for an adult costs about $30, laser tag is about $15 and virtual reality is $16 for non-members.
