$450M Fort Worth Arena Breaks Ground
The $450-million Fort Worth Multipurpose Arena broke ground this week. The 14,000-seat arena is located in Fort Worth’s Cultural District, next to the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
Fort Worth billionaire Ed Bass is providing $225 million in private money to fund the development. The public-private partnership behind the facility also includes the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, the State of Texas and several foundations.
Once the arena is completed in November 2019, it will host concerts, sporting events and the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo. The Multipurpose Arena Fort Worth, a not-for-profit operating entity, will manage the facility for the city.
The architect is Dallas-based HKS Inc., while another Dallas company, The Beck Group, will serve as general contractor.
