WINLYND LLC acquired the 384-bed, 96-unit Village at Lamar in Beaumont TX through a foreclosure auction. WINLYND LLC, a joint venture between Lynd Opportunity Partners and Windy City RE, acquired the property’s distressed bank note, and plans on a hefty capital expenditure into the property, which delivered in 2006.

The off-campus student housing complex at 5230 S. Martin Luther King Pkwy. serves Lamar University. Renovations are expected to be completed by fall 2018, and Lynd Co. will lease and manage the asset. Amenities include gated entry, a pool, fitness and business centers and volleyball court. The former owner was Campus Village Lamar LP, and the property was assessed at just north of $6 million.
