383-Unit MF Project Proposed at Downtown Stadium Site
Dallas-based Mill Creek Residential Trust proposed developing Modera San Diego, a seven-story, 383-unit apartment building on the downtown site where the $1.8 billion stadium-convention center is envisioned. Civic San Diego is reviewing plans submitted by the multifamily housing developer.
The site, which spans Tailgate Park and the MTS bus yard, is at the southeast corner of 14th and K St. It is one of the privately-owned land parcels the city would have to acquire for the stadium-convention complex.
If the Nov. ballot initiative is approved, San Diego’s hotel room tax would increase to 16.5% in order to help pay for a new 65,000-seat stadium for the Chargers and a convention center annex.
