$350K Could “Spur” Study Linking TexAmericas Center to I-30

A feasibility study to determine a spur road linking the TexAmericas Center in Bowie County to Interstate 30 in East Texas is one step closer, thanks to a $350,000 grant from Northeast Texas Regional Mobility Authority. The study would focus on a spur road to link the industrial park in New Boston, TX to Interstate 30, which is approximately two miles away. An additional $100,000 is needed.

TexAmericas Center opened in 2000 on the former Red River Army Depot and Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant sites. The development has added tenants, the most recent of which was Lionchase Holding Inc.

TexAmericas’ Scott Norton told the Texarkana Gazette that the TexAmericas Center board set aside a 600-foot right-of-way along Bowie Parkway, in anticipation of a future interstate corridor. “Among the things the feasibility study will examine will be this route and it eventually linking up to I-30,” Norton added.

The Connect Industrial conference will take place July 11. For more information, or to register, log on here.
