$315M Sale is Highest for Minneapolis Building

A subsidiary of Chinese conglomerate HNA Group acquired 33 South Sixth Street/City Center, a 1.6-million-square-foot mixed-use building in downtown Minneapolis. Shorenstein Properties disposed of the asset for $315 million, the highest paid for a building in the city.

Tom Holtz, Ryan Watts, Judd Welliver and Sonja Dusil of CBRE represented the seller of the 50-story building. The building’s main tenant is Target, which leases 800,000 square feet. The downtown asset also has retail space on the first level, which is vacant due to Sports Authority’s bankruptcy and the closure of two restaurants.
