$2B River Central Could Move Dirt Next Year

It’s never easy dealing with wetlands, but the managing partner of the $2 billion River Central project hopes to start work next year. A wetland area runs through the site near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, and the developer hopes to soon acquire the federal permits needed to get started.

River Central is expected to include a 140-room hotel, 120,000 square feet of offices, a 56,000-square-foot concert venue, 60,000 square feet of retail, 125 townhomes, 1,200 apartments, and 50 acres of open space.

The Dallas Business Journal reports that the development, which straddles Fort Worth and Grand Prairie, has received zoning approvals from both cities.

Hasen Design Build & Development is filling the role of managing partner for River Central. When River Central breaks ground, Hasen will start on multiple phases, which include apartments, higher-density townhomes and mixed-use retail.
