$28M H Mart Headed to NW Dallas
H Mart, the country’s largest Asian grocery chain, will begin construction next year on a 70,000-square foot Korean grocery store in Northwest Dallas. The $28 million project will include gutting the existing building at 2534 Royal Ln. and adding a second floor as office space. Construction begins in January and will end in December 2025.
The city approved $3.5 million in incentives for the project. Under the agreement, H Mart must operate in the location for at least 15 years.
The New Jersey-based supermarket chain typically includes banks, shoes departments, hair salons, gadget stores, food courts, and boba tea within its stores.
H Mart has nearby locations in Carollton and Plano. The Carollton location is about 35 miles from downtown Fort Worth. This means the Dallas location, at just over 31 miles, could be a bit closer to some midtown residents.
H Mart first opened in 1982 and now operates nearly 100 locations in the U.S.
